There’s stewardship and then there’s STEWARDSHIP
Last month a determined Park group who share a passion for the health and well-being of our earth focused their time and energies towards making a real difference.
Our community responded and the results were overwhelming. So were the feelings experienced by those involved. Like the commercial says, “priceless”.
Being good stewards - in this case the reference is to environmental awareness and behaviors that promote its well-being. Taken loosely, it’s about saving something for the next person in line. My kids, your kids, their kids.
Now, everyone’s familiar with the more traditional Christian ministry concept of Stewardship tied to sharing the gifts that God has bestowed, correct? It’s about our resources of treasure, time and talent. Okay, I see where this is headed. He’s changing the channel from “being green” to “giving green”. Please, read on…
...We give thanks to our Heavenly Father for the abundant blessings He has provided.
Through our prayers, and sometimes through our actions. Similarly, we owe thanks to our predecessors and have a responsibility to those who’ll follow in our footsteps to support and encourage the spiritual well-being of our community. It’s you and I, charged with being good and faithful stewards of everything Park Church, both the tangible and intangible. As you sit in your pew BEFORE THE SERMON J, think about the surroundings and the message from God you are about to hear. And, ponder this: “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse…and try Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not pour out for you such blessings that there will not be room enough to receive it.” From Malachi 3:10.
These blessings – let us open our eyes to them. We’re surrounded by so many material things. It takes a keener inner vision to “see” the intangibles.
As our upcoming summer schedules kick in, remember to practice your faith. Live your faith. Support your faith. Please stay current with your pledges and free-will offerings. It’s through unselfish giving that our eyes are truly opened to His blessings.
